Organic farming

To improve food quality and the health of consumers. Organic farming is a system of natural farming which fulfills the food and nutrition needs of society without depleting the essential natural resources of agriculture.

Vriddhijal

Vriddhijal is a liquid organic fertilizer which is aggregated after water is passed through activated column of organic bed consisting of earthworms. It contains plant extracts and organic matter like enzymes, amino acids, blend of macro and micro nutrients and earthworm secretions. It enhances plants growth and crop productivity and also boosts immunity of the plants.

Advantages of Vriddhijal for farmers:-

  1. Vriddhijal is rich in all essential plant nutrients. Provides excellent effect on overall plant growth, encourages the growth of new Shoots / leaves and improves the quality and shelf life of the produce.
  2. Vriddhijal is free flowing, easy to apply, handle and store and does not have bad odor.
  3. It improves soil structure, texture, aeration, and water holding capacity and prevents soil erosion.
  4. Vriddhi jal contains earthworm cocoons and increases the population and Activity of earthworm in the soil.
  5. It contains valuable vitamins, enzymes and hormones like auxins, gibberellins etc
  6. It prevents nutrient losses and increases the use efficiency of chemical fertilizers.
  7. Vriddhi jal is free from pathogens, toxic elements, weed seeds etc.
  8. Vriddhi jal minimizes the incidence of pest and diseases. It enhances the decomposition of organic matter in soil.

In the present study, the effect of Vriddhijal was observed significant growth and yield. proved to be an effective fertilizer which contributes the growth of plants when sprayed directly. It was also observed that the plants treated with Vriddhi jal were disease resistant and no any worms like leaf eaters were seen on the leaves and other parts of plants. Thus Vriddhi jal can be used as a substitute of commercial fertilizers available in market.

How to Use :-

  1. Use 3 sprays of Vriddhijal in a month at an interval of 10-15 days for all crops.
  2. Can be used in the form of foliar spray or in drip trenching (Mix 1 part of Vriddhijal with 5 parts of potable water).
  3. Use 15 liters of Vriddhijal for one acre land.
  4. For indoor/ornamental plants – mix 1 part of Vriddhijal with 15-20 parts of potable water twice a month.

Advantages of Vriddhijal for society :-

Organic farming has the potential to provide positive externalities not only on environmental protection but also in social aspects like health and rural development.

  • Because organic farming is done without the use of pesticides and chemicals, toxic residues do not poison the land, water, and air. Organic farming is a sustainable use of land and resources. Crop rotation promotes fertile, healthy soil.
  • Pesticide use in conventional farming contaminates runoff, water flowing over land, which is a natural part of the water cycle. Pesticide residues are found in ground water, surface water, and rainfall. This means that contamination may not be isolated in food produced with pesticides, but affects the environment as well.
  • Healthy soil is a key component of organic farming.
  • Organic farming seeks to protect and promote biodiversity.
  • Conventional food production often involves thousands of miles of transportation from point of production to the grocery store, using oil and gas that contribute to global warming.
  • Organic food is much better for health than conventionally grown alternatives.
  • Pesticides have higher rates of neuro developmental problems and disorders, birth defects, autism ADHD, asthma, cancer and lower IQ.
  • Organic diet is more nutritious than conventional food. Organic fruits and vegetables have been found to have higher levels of vitamin C, antioxidants, and phenolic acids as compared to conventional food. That can reduce these kind of disease.
